I was just wondering if anyone has created a custom firmware (at minimum allowing ssh) that can be upgraded through the Terastation Web Page?

Is there a language difference between the Japanese firmware and the European versions? I mean, is the firmware's GUI in Japanese, too?
Does anyone know what kind of encryption the zip file uses? Will fcrackzip be of any help?

Yes, the webinterface would be Japanese, too. On the Japanese site there is a picture guide showing how to switch it to English, but I did not bookmark the link. And the installer is already in Japanese, so I did not even understand that.
$Someone is currently trying some windows based ZIP cracktools, no success yet.
I'm quite sure I know how to get the password, I only have to update my TeraStation ... I'll do that if I find the time. If I lock myself out, I can actually try Moving disks.

I have a US model (orig firm 1.03). I updated firmware with v1.07B and the web interface is in English with an option to switch to Japanese (TeraStation > Basic > Text Display Settings > Display Language > Japanese English). Update added pcast server.
